Cartoon Festival Knokke-Heist - Benelux Event Award Winning Case

With a tiny budget of 10.000euro, the city of Knokke-Heist asked us to create a mediatic activation, considering the brand values of Knokke-Heist. KH is a high-end balnery city in Belgium. And they wanted to promote a message of "Love Is…" and a positive family holiday vibe. So we created a concept around the symbol of love : the red rose. And the symbol of traditional holiday feeling in Knokke-Heist is the paper beach flower, which children trade for seashells.

All Summer, we had a paper flower animation, where children learned how to make these beach flowers. After 1 month, we had over 10.000 flowers, with which we created a huge instagrammable heart, to communicate that love. Every flower was sold for 2euro per flower. They all got sold. The revenu was given to a good cause for children. Children are the result of love. So, that made the concept perfect. Love Is... Beautiful! It was instagrammable, and it generated lots of press attention. We even had a 2 minutes item during prime time national news on VTM. And got covered by Q-Music, Focus WTV, Het Laatste Nieuws, social media attention, etc.

What about the ROI? Well, that 10.000euro created 20.000euro for a good cause. And that 10.000euro had a media value of more than 300.000euro. No wonder we won a Benelux Event Award for this case.
